There’s no strategy per se, but I might look at the price of SOI at the moment as being ‘good value’ relative to the paper price. The gap between the MTGO price of 68 tix and the TCG Low price of $120 suggests to me that we can expect these prices to get closer to each other in the near term through the redemption link. From a practical perspective, there’s not much to do here since the paper price tends to come down due to the massive amount of supply on MTGO.

It’s more informative about price trends and what is happening in the broad market.

As for redemption being worth it, it all depends on your situation. If you are based in America and have the ability to move product, then redemption could be an excellent way to take tix and convert them into $. If you live outside of America, then the fees are generally not worth it. There are large operators that redeem many many sets.

What’s your strategy here? Do you buy full sets for cheap on MTGO, redeem them, and then sell them? Do you sell them whole? On Ebay or somewhere else?

I hadn’t thought about it before, but that’s one way to cash out of tickets, although there are all the added fees by WotC and Ebay. Does it really end up being worth it?
