The QS Cast has returned and has now shuffled once again: Chaz Volpe, and Tarkan Dospil continue on with where the cast left off and in this episode they discuss the following:

• Commander 2016
• Eternal Masters Holiday re-release
• Meta discussion of how to navigate Magic’s new financial landscape. What we are doing to mitigate some risk in our Collection and aqcuisitions.

Cards discussed in the cast: Some reactionary prospects, some general Commander cards. With Commander 2016 released it's a heightened time period for players to acquire these cards to build around the new Commander cards. *Mana Confluence was not discussed but adding it.*

Reserved list cards are discussed as a preventative measure for EDH Play. We also strictly talked foil versions of these cards listed above.

As to mitigation of risk in our collections: Tarkan suggests that Standard might actually have more appeal then it's ever had. Stating that it's known variables help with acquiring cards, relative to unknown quantities in other formats. We always know when new sets release, when pre-orders are happening, and Pro Tour dedication to Standard.

I also suggested to consolidate collections, and greatly diminish the "what-ifs" in your collection. Keep long term prospects to a minimum, and shift focus to a shorter time frame of buying/selling. Outside Reserved List cards (which could also suffer from game health) - I think the risk out-weighs the reward. Instead try to find buy-low/sell-high opportunities and identifying format defining cards like Smuggler's Copter as best as one can.
