Actually, Ensnaring Bridge would not be hurt “badly” by an Opal ban, since it is a card with so many random uses in casual decks, but it could hinder its growth a bit.

Fulminator is moving slowly upward and looks to be a great buy. Spaceshift’s role is reduced, even as it applies to decks that use Valakut (many only use 1 in tandem with a full set of Through the Breach). Bridge I would wait on until the B+R announcement, since Lantern is currently its biggest customer and would be hurt badly by a surprise Mox Opal ban.

All of these are exclusions from mm3 with significant roles in the current metagame. And I’ve personally picked up a set of each.

Tarmogoyf’s Modern usage is back over 20% and Death’s Shadow is currently the deck to beat. The top tables currently do not feature many decks that sport an emphasis on producing double-blue, which makes it an awkward fit…but if this changes, either through a metagame shift or a surprise Jace unban, Threads suddenly becomes an attractive option from a small print run.
